Wildcat Park is a community park open to the public on a day use fee basis. The park is owned and operated by the Ludlow Community Association, a non-profit, membership-based organization governed by a Board of Directors.
The following rules are hereby adopted by the Board to codify the use of park facilities and prescribe the expected conduct of park guests, protect park resources, and ensure the enjoyment of all.
Wildcat Park is a user fee facility. Only current Ludlow Community Association members in good standing are exempt from paying the prescribed entrance fee (gate fee )for nonevent entry into the park and use of non-rental park facilities. Non-member guests shall deposit the daily user fee in the front gate collection box upon entry.
Park hours of operations are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Overnight stay is prohibited unless specifically exempted by the Board.
One-way motor vehicle traffic on the Park Road, as indicated, is in effect. Park guests shall enter at the front gate (Ludlow end), and exit the rear gate (Wetmore end).
The Park Road speed limit is 10 MPH.
Only licensed motor vehicles are permitted on park roads. The use of off-road motor vehicles such as dirt bikes, ATVs, snowmobiles, etc. is prohibited within the park.
Parking is permitted only in designated areas. Off- road driving and parking is prohibited. Note: During peak usage, off road parking may be necessary. Please be aware of the condition of the surface that you are using.
Pavilion use is by reservation only.
Park guests are required to maintain the park facilities they are using in a clean and orderly manner. All signs, banners, decorations, etc. must be removed prior to leaving the park or termination of rental period. Household garbage shall not be brought into, or disposed of within, the park. Littering is strictly prohibited.
Picnic and pavilion tables shall be well cleaned and left in such a manner as to be ready for the next occupants use. Tables and furnishings shall be returned to their normal location within the pavilions. Climbing or standing upon park tables is prohibited.
Only non-destructive, temporary means of hanging decorations is permitted, i.e. thumbtacks or tape. Nails, screws, staples, drilling holes, and other means of defacement is strictly prohibited. Tape and thumbtacks must be completely removed.
Picnic tables and other non-reserved day-use facilities, i.e. tennis courts, children’s playground, horseshoe pits, etc. are on a first-come basis. However, guests are expected to share park resources with others. Monopolizing any non-reserved facility is prohibited.
Open fires are prohibited. Small fires may be maintained in park fire rings. Charcoal fires may be built within the park grills or within the guest’s charcoal grill. Guest’s gas grills may be utilized. Charcoal fires built in the park charcoal grills may be allowed to burn down. All other fires must be completely extinguished when unattended and prior to leaving the park. All fires must be attended at all times. No burning of trash or other refuse is permitted.
Cutting trees or shrubs is prohibited. Dead and downed branches may be gathered for firewood use from within the park. The use of chainsaws is prohibited. Park firewood stored at the DeForest pavilion may be utilized in the fireplace. Otherwise, park firewood may not be removed from the park.
Water is for park use only. Transport of water from the park, other than for Fire Department use, is prohibited. Ensure water faucets are closed after use.
Hunting and trapping within the park is prohibited within 150 yards of any park building. Hunters and trappers must abide by Pennsylvania Game Commission regulations while hunting or trapping within the Park. Shooting at random is prohibited.
To increase recreational opportunity, especially for youth, Catch and Release fishing is highly encouraged. No live fish may be removed from park waters. Note: if caught fish is terminally injured, the fish may be kept. Fishermen must abide by Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission regulations while fishing within the park. No fishing may occur in park waters, by any persons, between the time of restocking and the close of the Youth Fishing Derby, except by registered youth participants on the day/s of the event.
Pets must be leashed in the picnic and pavilion areas. No pets are permitted on the tennis court or within the children’s playground area. Pets may be exercised off-leash on park grounds away from the high public use area provided they are under the immediate control of their owners. No pet may be permitted to run at large. Good pet parenting is expected. Pet owners are completely liable for any damage caused to persons or property. Pet feces must be removed from the park grounds for disposal.
Additional house rules apply to the Deforest and Walter Lloyd pavilions. Guest using these facilities must abide by the house rules.
